COURSE OVERVIEW
Upon completion of this course, learners will understand how the hazards of the work the do may contribute to fires and be better prepared to prevent fires, and respond appropriately in case of a fire. Participants will also be trained on what to do proactively to eliminate fire hazards in the workplace and how to extinguish fires or react in case of an emergency.
COURSE TOPICS
What Hot Work is and the hazards associated and generated from it. Health effects and symptoms of Carbon Monoxide exposure. Care and use of Fire Extinguishers: understanding when to extinguish or exit.

Recognize work that meets the definition of Hot Work
Understand different precautions for Hot Work
Understand the role of Fire Watch
Be familiar with the Hot Work Permit System
Carbon Monoxide
Recognize the nature hazards associated with Carbon Monoxide
Understand the health effects of Carbon Monoxide Exposure
Understand and recognize the symptoms of Carbon Monoxide Exposure
First Aid for Carbon Monoxide Exposure
Recognize different sources of Carbon Monoxide
Understand basic controls
Fire Extinguiser Use
Understand the combustion process and different fire classes
Understand fire extinguisher types, operating procedures
Understand Basic Fire concepts: R.A.C.E, P.A.S.S.
Understand fire extinguisher placement and inspections
